Better methods to account for water’s value could improve corporate decision making, strengthen economic growth and ensure healthier ecosystems, according to a new report by WWF.

WWF has stated interest in improving the management of freshwater resources for people and nature. In addition to advocacy around government and public engagement with water resources, WWF has an interest in greater awareness and engagement of the private sector to support better management of these precious resources.

This report highlights the impact of the UK's consumption patterns on water resources across the world. WWF has used state-of-the-art analysis to estimate the UK's total national water footprint. This report presents both the results of this analysis and several case studies that illustrate the impacts of the UK's water footprint in the countries where the food and cotton are grown.
