The vision of the scheme is established India as a global leader in Geo-thermal power by deployment of Geo-thermal energy capacity of 1000 MWth in the initial phase till 2022. The scheme is to focus on assess the potential of geothermal resources in the country and promoting RDD&D projects of Power production and Geo-exchange Pumps.
This is the Draft Guidelines for Implementation of Scheme for setting up of 2000 MW Grid-connected Solar PV Power Projects under JNNSM, Batch-III-Tranche-I “State Specific VGF Scheme” .
These guidelines are for 3000 MW. MNRE will indicate the total quantity for various States based on response received from the States. The scope of these guidelines is limited to providing the necessary policy and operational framework for development of projects under the above mentioned “State Specific Bundling Scheme”.
The scheme aims to provide a huge impetus to solar energy generation by acting as a flagship demonstration facility to encourage project developers and investors, prompting additional projects of similar nature, triggering economies of scale for cost-reductions, technical improvements and achieving large scale reductions in GHG emissions.
The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) has carried out an exercise of calculating the State wise solar potential in the country. The calculation have been made taking data from Census 2011. The calculation have also taken into consideration data from India Waste Land Atlas 2010, Ministry of Rural Development.
The National Solar Mission (NSM) launched in January 2010 is a major initiative of the GoI with active participation from States to promote utilization of solar energy to supplement the country’s energy needs.
The scheme broadly outlines the key aspects of the programme with respect to proposed targets, implementing agencies, integration of schemes, potential implementation options, funding sources, key stakeholders, modes of
The draft Scheme for development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar power projects published by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. MNRE through this scheme plans setting up 25 solar parks, each with a capacity of 500 to 1000 MW; thereby targeting around 20000 MW of solar power installed capacity.
