The Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India, therefore, constituted a committee consisting of experts in the field of ground water to recommend a revised methodology. This report is the final outcome of the recommendations of the Committee.

The Union Cabinet under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approval the River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management) Authorities Order, 2016.

The `Core Committee’ constituted by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India met twice, on 11th July, 2014 at NIH-Roorkee and 26th September, 2014 at CSMRS, New Delhi, and deliberated on issues emerged/emerging out as long-term consequences on uses of arsenic contaminated groundwater for dome
