ROING, June 7: People of Poblung-B village in Dambuk Circle of Lower Dibang Valley are leveling allegations against eleven of their Anchal Samiti Members as well as Gram Panchayat Chairpersons of 6-Dambuk Anchal Block of misusing their positions to seek favors under NREGA.

Jamshedpur, June 3: West Singhbhum is lagging behind in implementation of MGNREGA projects and there are large-scale irregularities in implementation of the scheme, observed a high-level state team today.

The team, which is inspecting development projects being carried out in the district, was headed by chief secretary A.K. Singh.

New Delhi: A three-member committee, formed by rural development ministry to probe allegations that Gujarat government was diverting NREGA funds for other projects, will visit the state next week for the inquiry.

Gudihatnoor (ADILABAD), June 2: Family of S. Parashuram, 47, of Gudihatnoor in the district, has benefited most in the state out of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
His extended family was recognised as an NREGS family in the state because 11 members, including degree and Intermediate students, are working under the scheme and have earned good wages.

The poor utilization of funds meant for rural development continues unabated in Orissa, especially in the backward districts of the state.

The pointer to this fact is the gross under-utilization of the funds under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MG-NREGA) in Kalahandi, one of the poorest districts in the state and the country.

DHARWAD: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Minister Jagadish Shettar said that the Union Government has allocated Rs. 4,600 crore to the State to implement the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, and called on the officials to work towards effective implementation of the scheme.
