The matter related to leakage of ammonia gas from the IFFCO plant at Phulpur, Uttar Pradesh, which led to the death of two officers and injured 16 others. This was third time that the Ammonia gas leaked from the plant in the last two years.

The matter related to a building project in an area having an extent of 10.87 acres in Vedapatti village, Coimbatore south taluk, Coimbatore district under the name Golden City. The proposal was to construct 1356 flats of various sizes. It is alleged that the construction of the project started even before the grant of Environment Clearance.
