Pleading on behalf of the accused in the Union Carbide gas tragedy case, the defence counsel Prasad Dhakephalkar submitted before court of the chief judicial magistrate here on Monday that prosecution has drawn attention towards a new possibility.

A local court today heard the defence's arguments in the criminal case relating to the Bhopal gas tragedy - the world's worst industrial disaster.

Special courts to try forest cases

A National Green Tribunal that would have special courts to try cases related to environment and forest, would be set up once Parliament gives its nod, Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said on Friday.

The State Government has constituted a special committee to look into rising cases of illegal hill-cutting in the State and also stated that a policy for the protection of hills is being framed.
