Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 15/01/2021.

The matter related to remedial action against unscientific disposal of e-waste resulting in contamination of ground water and soil acidification. Question for consideration inter alia is whether in terms of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 (EWMR), there is due enforcement of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), authorization regime, collection and dismantling and other steps.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gafuruddin Ahmed Vs East Delhi Municipal Corporation & Others dated 09/12/2020. Grievance in the Application was against installation of a mobile tower at Abul Fazal Apartments, Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi. The NGT directed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) to look into the grievance as per applicable guidelines laid down by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on the subject.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Pawan Kumar Sharma Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi dated 02/11/2020.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action for compliance of Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016 by the IL&FS Company at Jahangirpuri, Delhi.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Dharmendra Singh Vs Delhi Police dated 07/10/2020. The matter related filling up a drain by sand and soil by some people in New Gopal Nagar, Najafgarh, Delhi which could result in malaria and dengue diseases.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rishabh Kumar Jain Vs Delhi Pollution Control Committee & Others dated 28/09/2020.

Action taken report on behalf of Delhi Pollution Control Committee in compliance to the National Green Tribunal order of May 20, 2020.

The matter related to management of construction and demolition (C&D) waste. The NGT had directed that steps should be taken to ensure increase of off take and lifting of C&D recycling material. Capacity for processing of waste needed to be adequately enhanced within a specified timeline. Also, it was not desirable to allow dumping of C&D waste at Bhalswa landfill site, which had already crossed its capacity.

Submission on behalf of the DPCC with respect to the letter of Monitoring Committee of August 24, 2020. The Monitoring Committee for the river Yamuuna had raised issues on the pooling of resources and use of funds in particular the EC and Consent funds, so that it could be used in the utilization of action plans for abatement of pollution in river Yamuna. DPCC stated that EC received was Rs. 52 crores, out of which Rs. 12. 4 crores have already been spent and Rs. 39.6 crores was the balance available.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of RWA Society Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi dated 26/08/2020.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action against the bad odour from the STP, Kondli in Delhi, as the STP is not operated as per norms. The NGT in its order of September 27, 2019 had directed the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to take appropriate action in the light of the report of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).
