Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vedprakash Vs State of Haryana dated 01/07/2019 regarding handling of the accumulated fly ash at the units of M/s NTPC Aravali Power Co. (P) Ltd. and M/s Jhajjar Power Ltd. (CLP India) in District Jhajjar. According to the complaint, huge amount of fly ash is generated and accumulated causing air pollution which results in diseases to the inhabitants. A report submitted by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board also confirmed huge amount of fly ash accumulated at the two thermal power plants.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Action for Vigilance and Knowledge for Empowerment Vs Lalitpur Power Generation Company Limited & Others dated 24/05/2019 regarding non compliance of environmental norms by M/s Lalitpur Power Generation Company Limited (LPGC), Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. Allegations in the application are that the LPGC is using fresh water in excess of permitted limit, not monitoring ambient air quality, not carrying out waste water treatment and is violating green belt plantation requirement around the plant.

It was also alleged that groundwater was being used for making caustic soda and thereafter toxic effluents were being discharged without safeguards affecting the public health in Palaamu District.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anul Haq Ansari, President, Mouja Maheshpur Raiyat Samiti Vs State of Jharkhand dated 02/04/2019 regarding scientific disposal of fly ash to avoid air pollution by the Bokaro Power Supply Company Limited (BPSCL), Jharkhand. The plant was not properly maintaining ash pond which was discharging chemical effluent which affected the wildlife and quality of Damodar river and aquatic life of the river.
