NEW DELHI: The 14.47-km-long Qutub Minar-Gurgaon metro corridor will be opened to the public on Monday. Services will start simultaneously from Qutub Minar and HUDA City Centre Metro stations at 8 a.m.

The Gurgaon Qutab Minar stretch of the Delhi Metro will be thrown open to the public soon. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has completed inspection for the mandatory clearance.

According to a Delhi Metro official, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) R.K. Kardam inspected the 14.47 km line connecting the millennium city with south Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday.

NEW DELHI: Haryana Government on Monday gave the sanction for the Guragaon Metro Rail link during a Cabinet meeting in Chandigarh. The work has been awarded to the consortium of ITNL ENSO Rail Systems Limited (IERS) and DLF.

The 6.1 km link will have six stations from Sikandarpur, covering DLF Phase-2, Belvedere Tower, DLF Phase-3, Gateway Tower and Mall of India.

Haryana is all set to be connected with the Delhi Metro in 2010 as the trial run for the train is likely to commence by July on the 7.05 km stretch from DelhiGurgaon border till the City Centre of Sector 29 in Gurgaon.

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government is going to spend Rs.98.81crore on repair and reconstruction of roads in Gurgaon. Out of this, Rs.78.84 crore will be spent by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Rs.19 crore by the Municipal Corporation, Haryana Chief Secretary Dharamvir announced on Monday.
