Ahmedabad: A group of 20 angry denizens tried to stop a BRTS bus on its tracks near Jaimangal bus stand on Ghatlodia-Naranpura road. They also tried to damage the railings nearby. The reason cited was that they had to take a roundabout route due to the BRTS corridor. Earlier, angry commuters had vandalized the railings and pelted stones at BRTS bus near Valinath bus stand in Ghatlodia.

Ahmedabad: Parking is proving to the toughest challenge for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), which is yet to get popular with the upper socio-economic segments of the city.
The only positive change visible in Indian cities indicating that policy and action to meet the urban challenge are moving in the right direction is the significant number of shiny, new low-floor buses funded by the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
MUMBAI: The Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) for the city is slowly taking shape after much dilly-dallying and delays. Plans are afoot to build sections of the two main highways for the BRTS in order to ensure that public transport gets a boost.
New Delhi: In a bid to revive the East-West Corridor plan which had fallen foul of Delhi Urban Arts Commission, Delhi government has now hired a consultant to conduct a study on a brand new plan for the corridor. And this time the BRT has been thrown in, with the elevated road proposed to provide a dedicated bus corridor.
