Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Andaman Chamber of Commerce Industry & Others/ Hotel Sentinel & Others Vs. The Andaman & Nicobar Administration dated 26/04/2018 regarding non-compliance of environmental regulations by hotels operating in A&N Islands. Counsel for the A&N Pollution Control Committee informs the Court that inspections conducted reveal large scale non-compliance with regard to 84 hotels and resorts as well as 19 automobile service centres as they were found not to have functional STPs/ETPs.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Manali Hoteliers Association Vs Ramesh Chand & Others dated 05/03/2018 regarding hotel, lodges, home stays operating without consent of the State Pollution Control Board and flouting environmental laws in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Manali Hoteliers Association had objected to the NGT Order which had asked for closure of hotels flouting environmental laws and said that Section 39 of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1977 prescribes the procedure for non-compliance which has to pass a statutory provision.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of M/s Health View Holidays Resorts Ltd V/s MPCB & Others dated 22/12/2017 regarding closure of the Health View Holiday Resorts, Mahabaleshwar on the ground that it has committed breach of Consent Terms and Conditions granted on 18th March, 2017 and has been the source of pollution, generating more than 100 MLD of sewage without treatment, operating 86 rooms against 59 rooms for which consent was granted.

NGT directs MPCB to inspect the hotel to see whether all the deficiencies have been removed.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh V/s. Hotel Jaypee Vasant, New Delhi & Others dated 22/12/2017 regarding extraction of grounwater by hotels in Delhi. It is stated on behalf of the hotels that all the hotels hold permissions for extraction of ground water granted by the concerned competent authorities as per the extant guidelines and reports of the joint inspections are also on record. NGT directs for issuance of revised guidelines.
