Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Society for Preservation of Kasauli and its Environs (SPOKE) Vs. Nilgiri Hotel & Others dated 26/05/2017 regarding unauthorized construction in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. NGT noted that even though Hotel Devshikha was granted consent to operate no inspection was conducted by SPCB. NGT expressed its displeasure at the report submitted by the Junior Engineer of the State Pollution Control Board and said that the report is primarily prepared for convenience of the hotel.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Govinda Biswas Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 09/05/2017 regarding discharge of sewage directly into river Rupnarayan by Hotel Sonar Bangla. Also photographs and google images shown by Govinda Biswas indicates that the Hotel is situated right on the bank of river Rupnarayan which is in serious violation of CRZ notification.

Bird’s View Resort; Chelsea Resorts; Hotel Pine View; Narayani Guest House; Nilgiri Hotel; Hotel Divshikha dated 27/04/2017 regarding banning construction activity in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Environment Pollution & Health Hazards in the State Vs State of Meghalaya & Others dated 24/03/2017 regarding hotels and guest houses in Shillong releasing untreated polluted water directly to rivers. By order dated 10.2.2017, NGT had directed the Meghalaya State PCB to verify the claim of these hotels that they had complied with the directions of the Board. It is stated in the reports of the State PCB that they are compliant in all respects.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Bharat Kumar Jain & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 14/03/2017 regarding pollution of Nakki lake, Mount Abu, Rajasthan.

National Green Tribunal directs a team to be constituted which shall submit a report with regard to the various hotels and other institutions existing in Mount Abu with regard to measures taken by them for treatment of sewage including setting up of STP and their out flow from the institution into the Nakki lake.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Society for Preservation of Kasauli and its Environs (SPOKE) Vs Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. & Others dated 06/03/2017 regarding protection of Kasauli, Solan District, Himachal Pradesh from the construction activity of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. from constructing 42 rooms hotel cum national museum and geo-park cum restaurant, conference hall, reception centre and park on the old site of Roscommon Annexe, Khetarpal Marg Kasauli.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Tribunal On Its Own Motion (Reg. Sunderban Forest) Vs Union of India & Others dated 17/02/2017 regarding construction in the Sundarbans. The affidavit filed on behalf of the State PCB containing the inspection report in respect of the hotels on Sagar Island is ordered to be taken on record.
