KOCHI: The monsoon is likely to hit Kerala earlier than usual, most probably by the last week of May. With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting a normal southwest monsoon this year, everybody is waiting for the weathermen to release their forecast on when it would start raining.
Ahmedabad: Thursday could be the hottest day of the season in the city with prevailing heat wave conditions making life even more difficult for denizens.
The south west monsoon is likely to hit the Kerala coast on June 1. According to preliminary observations made by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, there is nothing to indicate that the monsoon will arrive before or after the scheduled date.
Goa Meteorological Department will be installing eight Automatic Rain Gauge (ARG) stations across the State to ensure there is real time mapping of the rainfall.
