A consortium of Tata Power, Australian energy major Orion Energy and PT Supraco Indonesia has won the Sorik Marapi geothermal project in the Northern Sumatra region of Indonesia.

The Madhya Pradesh government has imported 50,000 metric tonnes of coal from Indonesia to deal with its shortage which is affecting power generation in the state, official sources said.
"The imported coal has reached a port in Gujarat and will reach the state shortly," Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) RB Agarwal said.
