Bhubaneswar, March 9: Orissa mines and industry minister Raghunath Mohanty on Tuesday admitted lifting of minerals worth Rs 150 crores from different railway sidings in the Keonjhar and Sundergarh districts and assured the members of the Orissa Legislative Assembly of stringent actions against culprits involved in the act.

The Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) has completed its probe into the alleged mining scam. The IBM would submit its final report to the Centre on February 3. The committee had already visited the mining rich belt of Keonjhar and Sundergarh district. The report would be vital for the Centre to exert pressure on the Government to agree for a CBI probe.

The committee on industrialisation and corruption in mines in the State, constituted by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) met here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of PCC spokesman Narendra Kumar Mishra at the behest of its convener MLA Naba Kishore Das.
