The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Arunachal Pradesh Government on sharing power to be generated in the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Project (LSHEP).

Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has demanded that construction of all mega hydel dams proposed in Arunachal Pradesh should be suspended until comprehensive studies on their socio-economic, environmental, technological and downstream impacts are completed and the people of Assam are convinced of the efficacy of the steps to keep life and property in the downstream areas safe.
