The matter related to illegal mining in the area of Lidhorahat Ghat Badtua in district Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. The bench of Justice Sheo Kumar Singh and Expert Member Satyawan Singh Garbyal of the NGT directed that there must be an institutional framework and enforcement mechanism to prevent illegal and excess quarrying. Further, the state should ensure that mining takes place without any adverse impact on the environment.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Manish Kumar Vs State of Haryana dated 14/10/2020.

The NGT October 14 directed a fresh district survey report (DSR) for sand mining in Banka district of Bihar.

An application filed in the NGT said that an interim district survey report (DSR) was prepared for sand mining in Banka district in the year 2018 but that was never finalized.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Chaudhary Yashwant Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 13/10/2020. Issue for consideration was the remedial action against the illegal operation of stone crushers and mining by M/s Maihar Stone, M/s Jai Maa Bhandari Stone, M/s Jyoti Stone, M/s Vaishono Stone and M/s Guru Kripa Associates in district Sonebhadra.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Balkrishan Vyas Vs State of Rajasthan dated 12/10/2020.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action against illegal blasting and mining by M/s Jindal Saw Ltd., Bhilwada, Rajasthan.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jayashri Rajebhosale Vs State of Goa & Others dated 12/10/2020. The present case relates to the illegal mining of laterite stone extraction in Goa.

The state authorities had proposed environmental compensation of Rs. 25,000, saying that there was no parameter for calculation of environmental compensation in the laterite stone extraction matter.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dheeraj Sharma Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 09/10/2020 regarding illegal sand mining in Madhya Pradesh.

The applicant (Dheeraj Sharma) said that in spite of the notification issued by the Central Government and in spite of the fact that there is a regulatory authority to control illegal sand mining, it was taking place for government purposes.
