Hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking ban on a proposed slaughter house near the Ram Ganga river in Moradabad, the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday directed the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) to take decision in this connection as per the pollution and environmental laws.

The above order was passed by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Dr Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud and Justice Dilip Gupta on a PIL filed by Maa Ganga Mukti Samiti.
