A day after an MP from Uttar Pradesh got the post of Union Minister of State or Rural Development, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has loosened its purse and sanctioned Rs 246 crore for the state.

The National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS)will coordinate with the state for improving and increasing irrigation potential. The water resources department has marked 800 new irrigation schemes. For implementation of these schemes, the NREGS will coordinate with the state government.

PATHANAMTHITTA: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned an aggregate Rs 53.41-crore projects, including Rs 24.27- crore schemes approved under its latest Rural Infrastructure Development Fund XIV, in Pathanamthitta district.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has disbursed loans amounting to Rs 1,465 crore in Kerala in 2008-09 for various activities taken up in the State.
