The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has floated a tender for supply of synthetic natural gas (SNG) up to 1000 mmsfd for injection into its own natural gas system, which is reportedly measured by the market players as an attempt to favour specific parties.

The government has promoted the city gas distribution (CGD) project, for which the first round of authorisation is underway, to the second spot in its priority list for gas utlilisation. The first spot is held by the fertiliser sector.

Pakistan contributes little to greenhouse gas emission and global climate change. Its total energy-related carbon dioxide emission, measure about 100 million tons, out of which, 46 percent is from oil-related emissions, 45 percent from gas and 9 percent from coal, an Asian Development Bank Study report said.

New Delhi: After helping clean up the air in Delhi and Mumbai, flagship gas utility GAIL now plans to pump Rs 1,000 crore into greening the highways by setting up 2,000 CNG (compressed natural gas) stations along major routes, even as it is chasing a target of wheeling about 95 million tonnes of natural gas to fire up industries around the country.

The Annual Energy Outlook 2009 (AEO2009) presents projections and analysis of US energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030. The projections are based on results from the Energy Information Administration's National Energy Modeling System. The AEO2009 includes the reference case, additional cases examining energy markets, and complete documentation.
