JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Clinton Climate Initiative, a programme of the US-based William J. Clinton Foundation, for setting up solar parks in the State. Each solar park will serve as a concentrated zone of solar development and produce 3,000 to 5,000 MW power.

New Delhi, Oct. 13 After being held up for well over two years due to fuel shortages, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) expects to get the two new units of the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS) up and running by January.

Three public sector companies are planning to set up 60-80 megawatt solar plants with an investment of Rs 1,000-1,200 crore. The projects will come up in Rajasthan, Punjab and the Leh region of Jammu and Kashmir.
