A diverse community of plastic pollution action leaders across Indonesia’s public, private and civil society sectors released a joint Action Plan for combatting plastic pollution and waste.

This report focuses on the actions and responsibilities of four of the world’s biggest plastic polluters: CocaCola, Nestlé, PepsiCo and Unilever. These companies continue to sell billions of products in single-use bottles, sachets and packets in developing countries.

The matter relates to a waste disposal dump yard set up on the bank of river Khoh, village Ratanpur, Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. The report stated that the collected waste of Nagar Nigam, Kotdwar was disposed at Paniyali Talli, village Ratanpur.

The Government has notified Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. The Rules prohibit the use of carry bags made of virgin or recycled plastic less than fifty microns in thickness. Sachets made of plastic material for storing, packing or selling gutkha, tobacco and pan masala are also prohibited.

There is no statistics in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairyingrelating to death of cows due to consumption of plastic waste.

The collection & management of solid waste in the country is being done by either Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) itself or through contractual workers or by Self Help Groups (SHGs). Under Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban (SBM-U), allocation of funds have been made for entire mission period of five years.echnology for dealing with urban waste is dependent upon the characteristics of the waste.

In compliance of NGT order dated August 13, 2019 a joint team of Haryana State Pollution Control Board and Municipal Council, Dabwali inspected the sanitary landfill site of MCC Dabwali and town Dabwali on August 27, 2019 to verify the status of compliance of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.
