A top wildlife official probing the death of a tigress in Bandhavgarh tiger reserve, would submit his report tomorrow.
"I will submit the report on the tigress death in Bandhavgarh on May 19, to the State PCCF A K Dubey tomorrow," Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) Dharmendra Shukla said.

The Environment Ministry on Wednesday referred 17 mining and infrastructure projects falling in areas adjoining tiger reserves to a newly-constituted committee to study their impact on tiger conservation efforts.

THE environment ministry has formed a panel to examine the impact of 17 projects, relating to mining and infrastructure development, on conservation of tiger.

The four-member committee of former National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) chief P K Sen and NTCA members Prakash Murlidhar Amte, Samar Singh and Urmila Pingle will submit its report within a month.

NEW DELHI: The Union Government is preparing ecotourism guidelines to promote responsible tourism involving the local community around tiger reserves, while at the same time regulating the mushrooming lodges which threaten wildlife habitats.

The Centre has denied that there is any plan or proposal to stop tourism in the tiger reserves of the country. It said that the tourism activities would be strictly regulated to ensure that ecologically sustainable tourism practices were followed.
