In order to increase milk production through cooperatives in Madhya Pradesh, MP State Co-operative Dairy Federation is making all efforts. Around 2.50 lakh milkmen are members of 4,100 societies in the State. Financial benefits on milk are reflecting in their progress in the villages.

An amount of Rs 2 crore 73 lakh has been allotted to ensure employment of 100-days at 18 tehsils of eight drought affected districts under National Rural Employment Guarantee Mission.

The works for the constructions of bridges, railway over bridges and under bridges by Public Works Department (PWD) in order to reduce traffic congestion are in progress in the state. The Department is presently executing 14 railway over bridges and 8 under bridges to the tune of Rs 268.21 crore. An amount of Rs 98 crore has been spent till February this fiscal year.

The Madhya Pradesh State Road Development Corporation has built 13 roads measuring 1772.58 kilometres in the state during the last 6 years. These roads have been built while ensuring quality through private-public participation under BOT Project.

The State Government had prepared a strategy six months ago under the Food and Civil Supplies department and invited the investors for constructing godowns or warehouses for storing foodgrains. They were called for a meeting with Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies, Praschandra Jain. More than 300 investors from the State and outside attended the meeting held in Bhopal.

More than 300 commercial units in Madhya Pradesh are causing pollution by emitting harmful air and water effluents beyond the permissible limits, the State Pollution Control Board has said.

As a part of efforts of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation for enhancing milk production, 15,000 mini kits are being distributed among milk producer farmers free of cost during rabi season under the Centre's mini kit testing programme.

Production of green fodder will be possible in about 2,500 acres of land after distribution of these kits, an official release said here today.

Under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project, Knowledge City will be established in Ujjain. Higher Education and Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma today chaired a high-level meeting and held discussions on the proposals received about the Knowledge City project.

The state government has sanctioned construction of 1301 kilometre long roads in Madhya Pradesh.

A project has been sanctioned to improve highways in the state with the assistance of Asian Development Bank under which 15 roads measuring 1080 kilometres will be built at a cost of Rs 707 crore.
