The industrial packages were announced in the state to generate employment but their results are discouraging.

PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has urged the people living in the mining belt to explore alternate sources of income rather than totally depend on mining related activities.

“We have to stop depending on mining fully. Check for alternate source of income like farming and dairy. It is flourishing now,” he said, addressing a large crowd of mining affected people at Secretariat Tuesday morning.
