The matter related to solid waste management in the city of Vapi.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) passed an order on October 31, 2019 in the matter of Yunus Daud Shaikh Vs State of Gujarat in in O.A. No. 910/2019. The matter related to air pollution in Vapi due to burning of waste and scrap from paper mills in the night and chemical contamination of ground water in Vapi area. In the said order, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) were jointly asked to furnish a factual and action taken report in the matter.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ranveer Singh Vs State of Gujarat dated 10/10/2019 regarding remedial action against contamination of ground water by M/s Parshanik Chemical, Plot No. 3A & 3B, 1st phase, near Maheswari Logistics Godown, GIDC, VAPI – Gujarat and M/s Vapi Spectorchem Pvt. Ltd., Plot No. A2/12, 1st Phase, near Amardeep Chemicals, GIDS, Vapi, Gujarat.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Tarun Patel Vs Gujarat Pollution Control Board & Others dated 01/10/2019 regarding discharge caused by Vapi CETP and other units in Vapi/Daman region, Gujarat. The NGT orders that the CETP should adhere strictly to the inlet and outlet norms as prescribed under the rules and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board should monitor and maintain strict vigil over the CETP.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Aryavart Foundation Vs M/s Vapi Green Enviro Ltd. & Others dated 28/08/2019 regarding pollution of river Daman Ganga and drain Bill Khadi in District Valsad in Gujarat on account of discharge of effluents by industries and CETP in Vapi Industrial Cluster.
