Is stubble burning the main reason for the worsening condition of NCR Air quality? With the air quality in Delhi-NCR crossing the 'very poor' mark, concerns over the sources of pollution have started to emerge. Apart from the regular vehicular and industrial emissions, a significant amount of pollution is attributed to the stubble-burning activities in northern states post-monsoon. Now, environmentalists and even the Delhi government are highlighting that, despite regulations, farmers have continued to burn crops this year. (00:00 to 32:00)

The BJP has hit out at the AAP's decision to reintroduce odd-even scheme.

The odd-even scheme is returning to Delhi for the third time from November 4 to 15, which means vehicles with odd and even number plates will be allowed to operate on alternate days. Women drivers and two wheelers are exempted from the scheme. In 2017, this scheme was put on hold as the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had rejected such exemptions. The Delhi government then had taken back the proposal of the scheme. Is it going to work this time? We will have to wait for the air quality reports after the implementation of the scheme.

This is the appalling statistic that has come out from research by Water Aid on Monday. Club this with the fact that one in every eight deaths in India is attributable to air pollution in India, the Ganga River is far dirtier than what it was a few years back and the health cost of environmental challenges can go up to 3% of our GDP, which is higher than our health budget.

The air in Delhi is now at dangerous levels almost at the same levels as we saw in the aftermath of Diwali and yet. Is it genuinely hopeless now at a time when there are statistics emerging that one in eight deaths in India can be linked directly to pollution. These numbers are staggering but why is air pollution not the top priority in the country right now? We talk about demonitisation and corruption as election themes, what about something like air pollution which is killing all of us? Tonight, we ask what explains this air apolcalpse in Delhi now.
