HC allows idol immersion in rivers only for this year

Allahabad High Court Saturday relaxed the ban imposed on the immersion of idols in rivers Ganga and Yamuna for this year and refused to extend the time frame any further.

Order of the Allahabad High Court on immersion of idols in the river Ganga & Yamuna, 12/10/2013

Allahabad High Court relaxed the ban on immersion of Goddess Durga idols only for this year in the rivers Ganga and Yamuna and permitted the district administration to carry out programme of routes for immersion of idols for different Barwaries and ensure that immersion may take place at new site as well as at old site.
