The paper analyze the linkages between irrigation and nutrition using data from irrigators and non-irrigators in Northern Ghana.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emphasize the need to address the most pressing issues of today: the conservation of a healthy environment that supports the health, wellbeing, economic development and growth of humankind, contributing to peace and security for all.

The paper uses a food systems approach to analyze the bidirectional relationships between climate change and food and nutrition along the entire food value chain. It then identifies adaptation and mitigation interventions for each step of the food value chain to move toward a more climate-smart, nutrition-sensitive food system.
