ORF report "Attitude towards Water in India", authored by Samir Saran, Sonali Mitra and Sarah Hassan, seeks to decode the diverse perspectives around water and rivers. It attempts to tease out the diversity in understanding of water challenges and difference in approaches to managing water across sectors, communities and geographies.
As India braces itself for an over-ambitious Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, it also has to deliberate the prospects of developing other renewable energy resources. Of all the non-conventional renewable energy sources, small hydro represents the highest density resource.
This report is based on the outcome of discussions during a roundtable conference on ’Blue Revolution: Charting South Asia’s Water Future’ organised on 11 April, 2011, by ORF in collaboration with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
