Pune: Around 72,463 hectares of forest land in the state has been encroached upon, that has led to several man-animal conflicts over the last few years and also forest fragmentation.
Solairedirect Energy India Pvt Ltd, a unit of Paris-based solar engineering firm Solairedirect Group on Wednesday inaugurated a 5.6 MW solar park under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). This is the company's first project in India.
The solar park will generate 9000 MWh per annum, enough to power 20000 Indian households.
