This Wind Solar Hybrid Power Policy-2017 aims to scale up installation of wind and solar hybrid power project in order to minimize the variability apart from optimally utilizing the infrastructure including land and transmission system and thus strengthening the energy security of the country.

The Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat has prepared the draft rules named, "The Gujarat Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2016" for the provisions relating to grant and regulation of mineral concessions of minor mineral under section 15 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

The State Government announced a new comprehensive Agriculture Business Policy - 2016 in a bid to take holistic approach towards the agriculture sector in Gujarat. As per the new policy 25 per cent of project cost subsidy up to Rs 50 lakh to set up, expand, diversify, modernize the agro and food processing unit has been given.

This policy announced by Gujarat government is aimed at reducing pollution caused by untreated solid waste. Under the policy, urban local bodies (ULBs), such as municipal corporations, will provide land on lease at a token rate of Rs 1 to business entities who wish to set up their solid waste-based power generations units. 

Gujarat has rivers, streams and large canal network which could be used for generation of clean and renewable power through small, mini and micro hydroelectricity (hydel) projects, hereinafter referred to as `Small Hydel Project'. However, only a small portion of the potentials in the state have so far been tapped.

Government of Gujarat announced new solar policy to increase the solar power production in the state. The Energy and Petrochemicals Department presented the ‘Gujarat Solar Power Policy-2015’, the second solar power policy by the Government, the first one was given in 2009.
