A 32 page preliminary investigation report into the environmental carrying capacity for polluting projects and allied issues in Tamnar and Gharghoda blocks of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh made public on Februry 26, 2020 on the National Green Tribunal (NGT) website. The report was in response to the NGT order of July 22, 2019.

Hindalco Industries Limited and M/s. Monet Energy Limited, SECL.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mathura Bai Verma, Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat Parsada Vs State of Chhattisgarh dated 27/03/2019 regarding environmental pollution by the cement plant operated by M/s Newako Wistas Corp. Limited, Asarmeta Cement Plant, Tehsil Alaktara, District Janjgeer Champa, Chhattisgarh. There is also a proposal to set up 20MW coal based Captive Power Plant which will further damage the environment. Green belt is being damaged and trees are being cut.
