The empowered committee of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has cleared the upgrade of 2,803km of roads in the state at a cost of 992 crore.

This information was communicated to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi by Union minister of rural development Jairam Ramesh. In a letter dated August 1, Ramesh said that a meeting of the empowered committee has cleared the upgrade of 919 roads.
