New Delhi: Considering the major discrepancies in the lease sketches of six Obulapuram mines, including three belonging to the Reddy brothers in the Bellary Reserved Forest Area, the Survey of India (SoI) has told the Supreme Court that the entire lease sketches should be reviewed and no mining allowed during the demarcation work.

April 28: Industrial effluents are heavily polluting the Penna river near Tadipatri in Anantpaur. The river is the only water body with water throughout the year in the district.
Indiscriminate discharge of hazardous pollutants into the river is posing a threat to aquatic life and people. There are about 300 granite and slab industries around Tadipatri.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Survey of India (SoI) to complete the survey of the remaining two mines in the Obulapuram mines owned by Karnataka Minister G. Janardhan Reddy and his brothers in the Bellary area and submit a report by April 22.
