In response to the NGT order, the CPCB asked all the concerned SPCBs/PCCs to provide information on list of industries prohibited due to non-compliance and details of environmental compensation. The SPCBs were asked to submit the action plans for improving environmental quality including the demarcated boundaries of CPAs/SPAs.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vinod Kumar Jaiswal Vs State of Maharashtra dated 13/02/2020 regarding illegal running of an industrial unit for manufacturing of packaged drinking water in CTS No. 12369/361, Plot No. 40, Ahinsangar, Aurangabad which is stated to be a residential area. Unauthorized drawal of groundwater through dug well and bore well was also alleged.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Aditya Singh Chauhan Vs State of Gujarat dated 06/02/2020 regarding discharge of untreated effluents into Sabarmati river from the CETP, Narol, Ahmedabad. The discharge was adversely affecting the environment and the inhabitants. The CETP is operated by M/s Narol Textile Infrastructure and Enviro Management. Report submitted by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) acknowledged that the CETP was not meeting the parameters, causing pollution of Sabarmati river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Twentyone Sugars Ltd. through their Director Vs Member Secretary Central Pollution Control Board & Others dated 06/02/2020 regarding closure of the sugar industry 'Maharashtra Shetkari Sugar Ltd' for not having installed Online Effluent and Emission Monitoring System (OEEMS).

Fourth version of Airpocalypse report by Greenpeace India, has identified 231 Indian cities out of 287 with more than 52 monitoring days data in 2018 under National Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme (NAMP), where air pollution levels exceeded the 60 µg/m3 limits for PM10 as prescribed under National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
