Yavatmal: The number of patients suffering from cholera and diarrhoea has gone up to 650 at Yavatmal Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Cholera outbreak has resulted in the death of eleven persons in three villages located in Bebeji local government area in Kano state.

After reports of deaths due to cholera in Hoshiarpur district, health officials in the city have intensified the vigil, constituting 15 teams to keep a check on the situation.

Abu Zabad — El Ahmar village of Abu Zabad locality in West Kordofan has recorded eight new cases of acute watery diarrhoea suspected to be cholera on Monday and Tuesday.

According to Chief District Health Officer Dr Uday Tilavat, 15 residents of Khedkarmsiya village had complained of diarrhoea and vomiting on Saturday.
