Chief Engineer, PWD has given assurance to the Tribunal that 2000 trees will be planted before the next monsoon and shall take preparatory steps before the next date of hearing. He will also give details of the 8 trees that are stated to have been transplanted.

The Counsel appearing for the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Tamil Nadu submits that the EC already granted is being revised on the basis of subsequent inspection.

The National Green Tribunal in this landmark judgment imposed a new buffer zone of 75 metres for lakes and wetlands which will be a no-construction zone, as opposed to 30 metres of buffer earlier in Bangalore. The court also ordered Mantri Techzone Private Limited to demolish structures built on buffer zone around lakes and rajakaluves in Bengaluru and ordered Mantri Developers to pay the fine of Rs. 117. 35 Crores.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajiv Dutta, Senior Adv. Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 04/05/2016 regarding forest fire in the State of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. NGT asks the State Government of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, particularly the Forest Department on the fire alerts received by them from the Forest Survey of India and to place on record the alerts received by them for last two months and whether they have made mapping of the forest areas which is critical as far as forest fire is concerned.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Bio Diversity Management Committee, Rewa, Madhay Pradesh Vs Ministry of Environment & Forests & Others dated 04/06/2016 on the issue of environmental damage in Keoti Village forests by constructing Bio Diversity Parks by the government of Madhya Pradesh. It was also alleged that illegal mining was going on in the area and illegal construction was also being carried out in the name of development of tourism by using heavy machines and blastings.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Octavia Albuquerque & Others Vs Ministry of Agriculture & Others dated 04/05/2016 regarding Mangalore Fisheries Harbour III Stage Expansion. NGT directs that the creek will not be blocked and instead it will be well defined by providing boundaries such as riveting the edges of banks and the basin will be dredged from the existing level of 0 to -1 meter up to -3 meters so that the sailing vessels as well as fishing boats can have a smooth navigation.
