METTUR: Farmers of the Delta region and those who depend on river Cauvery for drinking water are a worried lot today as the Stanley reservoir is fast turning into pools of water thanks to poor inflows.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday restored two million gallons daily (MGD) water supply to Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) from Khanpur Dam that was cut off in January.

Uttarakhand May Shut Supply For Canal Cleaning From April 15

Residents of south and east Delhi may soon have to face water shortage with the Uttarakhand government planning to shut down supply to Delhi for two weeks. Sources revealed that the shut down will take place from April 15 to facilitate cleaning of parts of the Upper Ganga Canal near Hardwar in preparation for the Maha Kumbh in 2010.
