Bhopal, Jan 21: The State Government has accorded sanction of Rs 1.5 crore to solve drinking water problem prevailing in districts of Rajgarh, Shajapur and Khandwa districts. Out of the sanctioned amount, a sum of Rs 49.50 lakh has been released to these three districts as initial instalment.

Mumbai: Residents of the Worli area from Haji Ali to Prabhadevi have a reason to cheer. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is all set to redevelop a twenty-five-year-old reservoir keeping in mind the rising demand for water in the area. The planning for the redevelopment of this reservoir started in October. It is expected to be completed within two years.

New Delhi: Taps ran dry in many parts of the city on Thursday, and it could get worse today. The reason: extremely high levels of pollution in the Yamuna, which forced Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to shut two of its water treatment plants on Thursday morning.

Water crisis is increasing under Kolar Municipality Area continuously. Residents of these localities are providing water through calling tankers. People are facing difficulties due to water crisis. The residents of Sarvadharma, Kanha Kunj, Shalimar, Bimakunj, Damkheda, OM Nagar, Raj Harsh, Rajved, etc colonies are facing too many difficulties.

Already, one billion people do not have enough clean water to drink, and at least two billion cannot rely on adequate water to drink or clean.

The residents of various localities here on Thursday staged protest demonstrations against the prolonged power suspensions in parts of the city.

The demonstrations were held at Gulbahar Chowk, College Chowk Faqirabad, and Dalazak road near Saeedabad bridge.
