Itanagar: Flood situation continued to remain grim in Arunachal Pradesh with reports of fresh areas being inundated by flood water on Tuesday in several districts of the State.

The situation is worst in Anjaw, Lohit, Changlang, Dibang Valley, East Siang and Upper Siang districts of the State with all the major rivers and their tributaries were in high spate and flowing above the red mark.

GUWAHATI: The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS), spearheading a movement against the Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Project located along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, said that the time had come for the people of both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to jointly oppose the construction of big dams in the North East.
