The State Government of Arunachal Pradesh has accorded top priority to industrial growth as a means to mitigate poverty and unemployment.

The growth in renewable energy jobs is the logical result of the increasing deployment of renewables – a development underpinned by falling costs and supportive policies. Renewables account for more than half of all capacity additions in the global power sector since 2011 and their share in total power generation has steadily increased.

The Economic Survey identifies several levers for furthering wealth creation: entrepreneurship at the grassroots as reflected in new firm creation in India’s districts; promote “pro-business” policies that unleash the power of competitive markets to generate wealth as against “pro-crony” policies that may favour incumbent private interests.

This report provides an overview of global and regional trends in employment, unemployment, labour force participation and productivity, as well as dimensions of job quality such as employment status, informal employment and working poverty. It also examines income and social developments, and provides an indicator of social unrest.

This report, Jobs of Tomorrow: Mapping Opportunity in the New Economy, takes an in-depth look into the 'black box' of new job creation, reviewing the shifting focus of employment to emerging professions of the future, the reasons behind it and what skills will be required by these professions.

The Report has its momentum as the Code on Wages Bill aims to ensure universal wage protection for all workers, which will benefit millions of persons in India.
