After numerous complaints of congestion and the lack of parking space in Khan Market area, the Urban Development Ministry has asked the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to prepare a proposal for a multi-level parking lot.

Starting April 1 visitors to Khan Market will have to pay for parking, which has been free for the past 25 years. The charges are being levied following the Environment Pollution Control Authority’s (EPCA) directions to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

Hyderabad, June 30: The Supreme Court-appointed Environment Pollution (Prevention and Cure) Authority has threatened to recommend criminal action against commercial establishments that flout parking norms. It has also asked the government to gradually switch over to CNG for public transportation in the state capital.

Parking Fee Linked To Locality

New Delhi Vehicle owners in the Capital might soon have to shell out more depending on where they park their vehicles. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has finalised a revised parking policy that proposes to link parking rates to house or property tax of the area. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) already fixes parking rates based on their location, congestion and other factors.
