Food recall procedures to remove unsafe food

KOCHI: The food recall procedures, introduced for the first time in India by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India to remove unsafe food from the market and thus prevent injury to consumers, can be initiated voluntarily by the manufacturers/distributors concerned or by the Food Authority or the Local Competent Authority (LCA).
