Jaipur: A day after the massive fire broke out in Indian Oil Corporation depot on the outskirts of Jaipur, thick smoke clouds enveloped the nearby areas on Friday posing serious health hazards to people living in the vicinity.

To ease routine traffic jams on the Jaipur-Agra highway, a four-lane road tunnel would be constructed in the city, a Government official said here on Sunday.

The Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ministry and the Rajasthan Government are giving final touches to a mega event to mark the half century of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) at Nagaur, where on October 2, 1959, Jawarharlal Nehru, as Prime Minister inaugurated the three-tier Panchayati Raj System in the country.
