Controversy over construction of new bus stand at Katra

SRINAGAR: Underlining the importance of energy efficient and up to the mark power distribution system in ensuring hassle free electricity supply to the consumers, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday laid thrust on time line completion of projects under implementation on the State.

The Government has accorded sanction to release of 15.33 crore under SDRF for clearing the liabilities on account of restoration works done in three regions of the State in wake of flash floods, cloudburst and hailstorm.

JAMMU: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said that Government has sanctioned Rs. 10 crore for immediate restoration of damages caused due to flash floods and incessant rains in Jammu division.

JAMMU: To review the status of feasibility reports of various hydro power projects under investigation in Jammu province, the Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik today convened a meeting of officers from Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation at Civil Secretariat here this morning.

JAMMU: The Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council, Arvinder Singh Micky today toured the areas of Jammu which suffered damages due to recent flash floods triggered by heavy rains .

 

Heavy rain accompanied by high-velocity winds and a flash flood claimed nine lives and disrupted life in the Jammu region since last night.

JAMMU: The farmers of various sub-divisions of Jammu division have established 20 biogas units with 90% financial assistance from Agriculture Department under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) besides 209 vermicompost units have been constructed in the division during last year under RKVY and Technology Mission schemes.
