The study conducted on 120 rural and urban homemakers in two randomly selected panchayat wards and two municipal council wards of district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh revealed their knowledge regarding indigenous resource management practices. Results showed that knowledge levels vary among rural and urban homemakers which were tested with Z- test at 5 percent level of significance.

The purpose of such study is to assess the environmental impacts arising due to the exploratory drilling proposed in the Kangra-Mandi block (HP).

Kangra valley experienced tremors last night. Some people left their houses in panic during the chilly night due the earthquake.

Dr RS Negi, in charge, Seismology Laboratory, said the earthquake was experienced at 1.54 am and continued for 10 seconds. He said it was measured 5.9 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in the North West Himalayan Hindukush Region.
