Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhkaran Vs State of Haryana dated 28/05/2021.
Grievance in this application is against cutting of trees by the health department for establishing water tanks at khevat No. 63/2, khasra No. 207, village Nimar Badesara, district Bhiwani, Haryana. It is stated that the trees in question are of rare species – Khair and Kheri.

The central empowered committee (CEC) of the SC will visit the state to inspect khair forests to ascertain whether or not the felling practices being adopted were leading to regeneration.
An experiment on the influence of tree cover on physical properties of soil was carried out at Instructional Farm, ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, Navsari (Gujarat) under twelve-years old plantation during the year 2002-2003. The soil samples were collected from three depths (0-30, 30-60, 60-90 cm).
