Shimla: The spotting of two snow leopards by wildlife staff near Chichim in Kibber area of Lahaul-Spiti area a few days back has raised the hopes of an increase in the number of the highly endangered animal for which a special conservation programme is being launched.

Passive solar heating of houses is a clean technology which was made mandatory in the government/semi-government sector in 1994 in the Western Himalaya state of Himachal Pradesh.
