Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: Godavarman Thirumulpad Vs Union of India & Others dated 09/01/2018 regarding encroachment of Pachmarhi cantonment land, Madhya Pradesh. It has come to the notice of the Supreme Court that the meetings being held by the Ministry of Defence on the issue of cantonment land in Panchmarhi are not being attended by the State of Madhya Pradesh. Supreme Court directs that the he Chief Secretary of the State of Madhya Pradesh to ensure that the State is represented in these meetings.

The case deals with the massive encroachments in the catchment areas of Ramgarh Dam especially by the National Institute of Medical Sciences University or NIMS.

Apex Court directs for final disposal of these matters on 15th January, 2018 as it involved a large number of encroachments on the flood plains of Yamuna.
